I almost feel like places like Jitlada don't belong on yelp. How can anyone critique the cooking of someone who has been cooking for decades? Unless you have been in business since the 1970's what you think of this place should not matter. Jazz, the owner of this place still greets you at the door and takes you to your table. If you follow her on IG you know she still makes her curry's from scratch and works very hard to make sure she serves you the best food in the world. It was my friend's and I first time visiting Jitlada and it did not disappoint. To begin, my friend was intrigued by the necklace Jazz was wearing. A giant pendant with what we assume is a guru or saint Jazz is devoted to. Before guiding us to our table Jazz told my friend to touch her necklace and make a wish. She quickly explained to us that this saint has helped her restaurant become a success and how with that success she is now able to give back to temples and the community. Nothing to say about the perfectly delicious food other than it was perfectly delicious! If you've never tried this place out, do yourself a favor and check it out. Yes, there is a wait to get in but that's always a good sign. Hoping to visit Jitlada again very soon.
Visited Jitlada on a recommendation and decided to visit on a Saturday night. Had a little bit of wait time and only had to wait around 20 minutes for a table. it was mentioned that this restaurant was very well known and a lot of people had visited this restaurant so my expectations were high. Jitlada has a very cozy atmosphere with tables packed full of people. Their menu is very vast and includes a lot of dishes that you wouldn't normally see at a regular Thai place. Ordered the pad Thai and the pork belly as an appetizer and wait time was really long to get our food. The wait was worth it though because the food was so delicious and I understood why this place was so popular. Pork belly was seasoned really well and wasn't burnt like some places do and the pad Thai blew my mind. I guess I was eating at the wrong place this whole time. Definitely will be back. Had a nice conversation with the owner and how they created certain dishes. Good vibes. 10/10 Parking is valet or street so plan accordingly.
Food was delicious although slightly pricey. Everything had strong thai flavors and cooked well. Morning glory is a must. Very extensive menu with some more unique food items to offer. Very busy spot and server takes quite a while to get around to all the tables.
We loved this so much we literally went the very next day The wait can suck sometimes, and it can be pretty crammed and warm in there, but still so worth it! Had one of the best drunken noodles and tried new Thai dishes you don't find often such as a special curry on their menu and a tempura-like crab claw shell (I believe on the appetizer list). Their menu is huge! I feel like we'll need a few visits to try all that we want to try.
Came here for a very early Saturday dinner. Got here as soon as they opened and it wasn't hard being seated. The staff was very friendly and took our order pretty quick. The food also came out pretty quick too. The parang curry was super flavorful. The pad see ew was perfect. The crab fried rice was my least fave but it was still great.
Food: extensive menu, great authentic flavors Service: excellent Ambiance: super casual
This has become my new favorite Thai restaurant! The neighborhood might not be the greatest, but the food exceeds this! We ordered the Crying Tiger beef. This was so good and flavorful we ended up getting an extra order. We also ordered the deep fried morning glory salad. It was really good, their sauce was delicious! We also ordered their Thai fried rice (not pictured). The winner for me was their Three Spice fried sea bass. It was so delicious and crispy! And their three spice sauce was full of umami! I could have probably put that on anything, and it would taste good. Their Thai ice tea boba was also really good. Will definitely be coming here again, even though it's a little far for us...worth the drive!!
My cousin invited us for my bday dinner. It's in Thai town. Parking is limited, or you can find street parking too. This place is outstanding. Totally different kinds of Thai cuisine you normally eat. No reservation. You have to go there, write your name on the clip board. Even though they are super crowded and busy, they are friendly and I love it. Their restaurant was in Michelin Star 2021. Guy fiery was also there before. I never seen this kind of menu, it's like 10-15 pages, about hundreds type of food in their menu. On top of that they have special menu on table and wall. Service is fast and friendly. They also have a spicy challenge in the back of the menu. The menu has 2 section: green section you can get mild spice level, the white ones were for those who can handle real spicy food. It's a small restaurant so yeah, it's kinda loud. We ordered: Spicy crispy pork noddle - the noddle is very good, the crispy pork overly fried. Khao soi Chiang Mai - like it Jitlada omelet - it's fried egg omelet Crispy morning glory salad - my fav of all Papaya salad - refreshing Pumpkin red snapper curry - love the pumpkin with snapper Crab fried rice - very nice. Not oily or too salty. Perfect Fried banana & ice cream - the banana is not ripe enough. So it's ok. We stayed for another hour chatting, they didn't kick us out. I'm surprised. This is one of the best Thai food I've ever have in United States. I feel like I was in Thailand. Well done, chef!! We will definitely come for more.
Came to Jitlada per a friend's recommendation. It's definitely a popular spot and you will likely need to wait a little bit if you come during prime dinner hours. The inside is small but quaint and decorated with lots of Thailand pictures and artifacts. Note the parking lot is also very small so street parking will be your friend. The service was good and the food was good as well! We ordered the Spring Rolls and Pad Thai and both were very good! The Pad Thai had very fresh noodles and I really liked all of the flavors included. I would come back here for the Pad Thai alone. My husband ordered the Oxtail Curry and sadly didn't enjoy it as much. The spice seemed like it was just there but didn't complement the other flavors and the oxtail meat was very slim. Don't think he would order it again if we went back. I will also note that overall their menu is on the pricier side compared to other Thai restaurants and the portions felt to be on the smaller side. If you're looking for a bargain this won't be the spot.
